Cristobal®+ is an indirect composite restorative system consisting of a Bis-GMA based resin matrix with Barium Borosilicate glass ceramic filler. Cristobal+ is recommended as a porcelain alternative when protection of opposing dentition, wear resistance, and natural esthetics are primary concerns. Clinical test results have shown Cristobal+ to compare favorably to other indirect composite systems currently on the market.
Cristobal®+ is indicated for inlays, onlays, crowns (through 1st molar), metal free/fiber free 3-unit bridges (through 2nd bicuspid), veneers and implants. Cristobal®+ can also be used for crowns and bridges on all teeth when fabricated with a metal substructure.
Cristobal®+ restorations require a simple clinical protocol. Preparation guidelines require minimal reduction and the use of new bonding agents such as Calibra by DENTSPLY Caulk (Milford, DE) significantly reduce the incidence of sensitivity. Doctors report clean-up is fast and easy and the chairside polishability is an outstanding timesaver. For the patient, Cristobal®+ means excellent shade match and stability, conservative tooth preparation, lasting natural gloss and translucency, and high biocompatibility.
Cristobal®+ restorations fabricated with a metal sub-structure can be cemented conventionally. Adhesive cementation must be performed for all other Cristobal+ restorations. Calibra Esthetic Resin Cement (Caulk, Dentsply) is the manufacturer's recommended cement. However, Cristobal+ is compatible with any resin cement system. Key Benefits
